Do less, better
Over the last 12 months I have been focusing on minimising the amount of distractions, both personally and in business.
There is no shortage of good ideas. In fact, I believe that ideas are quite often detrimental to significant growth in business and wealth.
There are millions of ideas - most of which are worthless - unless you act upon them and implement better than anyone else.
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you’ll know that my favourite saying is,
“If you want to be rewarded above average, you need to do better than average.”
The operative word being ‘do’.
Most business owners love new ideas. They bounce from one to the next, riding the wave of motivation for a while until they realise how hard the new thing is. Only to lose interest and chase the next idea.
This is why so many businesses get stuck - I did too.
When you get to a certain level of scale, usually between $3 million and $10 million, you’re rarely propelled to the next level chasing new ideas.
It is all about focus and optimisation of what works, along with letting go of what doesn’t.
Over the last 12 months we’ve focused on this principle - getting better data to inform us of what is working and what isn’t, then creating rules that keep us focused on what to scale and what to cut.
We’ve achieved more growth in 12 months than we had in the last 3 years.
So now that brings me to Substack.
I had all the best intentions to have this as a platform I would update regularly and build another audience outside of my public platforms for curated content, exclusive resources and give people an opportunity to take a step toward working with us in a higher capacity.
The reality is that it isn’t a needle mover and it is just another shiny object.
As such, I have added a bunch of assets that will remain on here which I believe significantly exceed the value of the subscription tiers. However, I am not going to update this platform regularly and content will be sparse.
If you’re a paid subscriber and you feel you haven’t got value - I apologise and I am happy to refund you.
